About the instructor :

Lydia is an Indonesian Chinese Artist based in Singapore, her passion for painting started at early age of 3 years old. Her art background is in Architecture, well trained and experienced in teaching art for more than 10 years. She has been teaching kids and adults in Indonesia, International art schools in Shanghai, and at her home studio and workshops places in Singapore since 2013. She also customizes paintings for clients home and office.

Enjoyable

Great Hands On

Explanation and demo for Water Colour segment were clear. Didn't have much time on Brush Calligraphy. However get to complete the Water Colour work even after class time. Lydia was patient with all present. Thank you!

Interesting class for beginners

Lydia is a patient and friendly teacher. She will explain and give demonstrations on how the watercolour techniques are done. She would help to correct her students techniques and give feedback on how to improve and troubleshoot. Even beginners can do a decent artwork! Nice experience!

Useful tips

Lydia is a wonderful artist and patient with beginners. Agree that the 2-in-1 session could be a little rushed esp for someone w zero skills, but it was very enjoyable nonetheless.

Beautiful experience.

Small and personalised class

Great workshop experience

The class was conducted in a pretty little open dessert cafe in the mall, but it was relatively quiet and peaceful during the workshop. Teacher Lydia is patient and explains the techniques well.. She also shares her experiences. Because it was a 2 in 1 workshop, it felt like there was not quite enough time for each topic, so if you prefer more time to focus on one skill, it is probably better to choose one specific workshop. Nevertheless, Teach Lydia is very nice and flexible to allow us more time to complete our artwork. Overall, a lovely experience that made a fun afternoon :)

Enjoyable and easy to follow

I attended with my teen daughter.. It was our 1st time trying out. Water color calligraphy is not as easy as it seem but Lydia made it easy to understand and follow. The practices are useful. She's patient to correct us on our strokes. She also gave us useful tips how to write. The templates she prepared is very helpful to show us how to go about our strokes and the necessary pressures required. We enjoyed our session and will surely be back for other classes with her.

Worth giving it a try

Good workshop for beginner

Inspiring and fun

Interesting!

Interesting and fun watercolor painting lesson as well as brush lettering calligraphy.
We went through the brush lettering calligraphy (basic strokes) followed by the floral watercolor painting. The instructor was very patience to guide each of us.

Well spent Afternoon

Lydia is a friendly, patient and pretty instructor. The environment is nice and peaceful. Personally enjoyed the lesson very much, just that 3 hrs seem to be not enough for slow learner if doing for painting and calligraphy.

Great experience on calligraphy & water painting !

It was my first time trying out calligraphy and painting in watercolour. For me, calligraphy was a challenging one as it really requires skills! Lydia was patient to guide and teaches you the tips and tricks. What I particularly enjoyed the most was actually floral water painting, I learnt how diluting the paint gives a different gradient of colour!

Amazing experience

Attentive and knowledgeable teacher

Amazing experience

The lesson was great ! Ms Lydia is very nice, patient and friendly to every student including me of course. She teach very well and detailed. I feel that my watercolour skill become better. Worth the money spent

In this class i was able to learn both watercolour and brush calligraphy skills.
Before the class, Lydia sent us emails to make sure we can find the venue and to remind us as well. During the class, she was very patient with us and she was able to make painting simple and enjoyable for us. She shared various techniques which i find useful. She even gave us free paintbrushes and palette which she packed in a bag together with illustrations and templates for us to bring home and practice with. And she even prepared yummy snacks for us to eat after the class.
I enjoyed Lydia's class very much and i highly recommend this!

A gentle and nurturing facilitator

Lydia is a very kind hearted facilitator, a giver of knowledge to her very best for each student. It is impossible to find faults with her facilitation of the topic she delivers.

Besides knowledge, its her giving heart that strikes a cord with the students.

There is simply no pressure. For she doesn't pressurize her students I Feel very at ease and soothing with her presence. At the end of the class I definitely than before. I am surprise she pronounce my name correctly :).

She gives you the assurance and confidence to continue and explore water coloring.

No fret being first-timer with a good instructor

Lydia is a very experienced instructor. I was nervous being first-timer, but she was encouraging & patient. I especially appreciate her for pointing out the common mistakes of beginners to help me avoid making them. I am very happy that I could bring home a pretty artwork. This is so therapeutic!
