Stepping Out Studios

Stepping Out’s aim is to create a vibrant dance culture, which enables everyone to engage with dance in all its forms – as a leisure pursuit, as an art form and as a means of maintaining physical and mental well-being. To achieve this vision, a home is needed and that home is Stepping Out Studios. Our Studios are the ideal place to set up a variety of dance sessions, workshops and events for the enjoyment and participation of all members and groups of the community: toddlers, children, young people, boys, adults, elderly, young carers groups, disability groups and groups from various clubs and day care centres.

The main objectives of our Dance Centre are to:

develop opportunities within the community for personal enjoyment, empowerment and enrichment
create and provide participation and performance opportunities
increase the health and well-being of people of all ages and social categories
help bring communities together to build confidence
develop education and training for local people
bring together and provide the opportunity for networking between people from the local community
contribute to social, economic and community development

We strive to become a location of choice for dancers of all ages and abilities across all dance genres. Each studio contains the very best equipment available in order to ensure that all our guests have a safe, productive and enjoyable experience.

Challenging

Engaging and fun

Highly recommend this class

I enjoy every workout session here. each session only a few people attend. The instructor can really focus on helping each one of us. I feel that my dancing technique really improve a lot after 4 sessions. Highly recommend this class

Class cancelled without notification

Most disappointing experience. Booked via LGW for stepping Out Studios Adult HipHop for 730pm class.

Rushed down from office via GoJek and managed to arrive at 715pm. Waited till 740pm and there wasn’t any sight of receptionist, teacher nor students. Finally approached someone and got to know that lesson was cancelled to my dismay. Was not informed about the cancellation and in fact was sent a reminder for class the day before by LGW.

This was supposed to be a trial with the studio before I decide to send my daughter for a trial at the studio as well. Not too sure if I’ll be keen to do so now.

Fun and Enjoyment

The lesson was excellent. The teacher welcomes the new students immediately and also teaches the steps for the Kpop songs clearly. Since, Kpop songs are in the new trend, I enjoyed pretty well by dancing to the songs. Overall, I loved the lesson and will continue the lessons 100%.

Dance your heart out!

Was afraid that it would be intimidating but everything turn out to be fun! Don't be afraid of messing up the choreo and just try your best because everyone is there to learn :) The instructor May is very friendly and greeted us individually before lesson starts. The lesson is actually more suitable for people who already have some hip hop basics and may be too difficult for those who want to learn the fundamentals step-by-step.

Hastily conducted and overcrowded in a tiny studio

The class was slightly overcrowded and ended up bumping into each other alot in a tiny studio. No introduction or explanation and the instructor went on with the class with the regulars with the jargons I did not understand and drills I have not seen before. Class was conducted hastily with most students just fumbling about.

Being flexible with the body will be good for those who enrol in the contemporary class.I

Enjoyable & will continue the classes!

After joining their Kpopx classes, I realised how happy I am when I am dancing so I decided to muster the courage to go into the more skill-based genres. I chose contemporary mainly because I like how the dance was expressed so fluidity, artsy & gracefully, and at times powerfully & emotionally. It is like watching a storytelling. I felt the class is great for beginners who would want to test it out. Teacher is friendly too & there's no stress that I initially imagined would be associated in order to perfect the choreography. I hope the class is longer though.

A good start

I had a good time attending the trial of Hip Hop class. Although I felt a bit shy, the instructor tried to make us all feel comfortable.
The dance lesson in itself was quite challenging for me and it was somehow on a fast pacing. Nevertheless it was worth a try and I won't regret if I attend more sessions again.

Great work-out for me!

Worth giving it a try for first timers with no exp

Dance instructor May is so friendly and helpful. Her cheery personality helps warm the whole dance ambience. She took care to ensure all students follow through her dance steps.

Great work-out experience!

It was pretty intensive, but fun at the same time. The instructor was clear in her instructions, and I was able to catch up with the steps without much problem. The lesson was pretty fun and sweaty!

Fun sessions!

Dance away, my fats!

The lesson started off great and the trainer/dance coach for the class was really motivated to teach us even though the lesson is just an hour. Although most of the students in the class are first timers, there were almost no awkwardness in the class with much thanks to mood maker, our trainer. Overall, a truly great atmosphere.

Good flow of class

My son enjoyed the tap class very much...its wonderful to finally find a class for Adult Tap. My son did Tap dancing a few years ago but stopped because of his studies. He is so happy that he can resume his Tap lessons again. He had a wonderful experience yesterday , 6th April. The teacher was very good and made the class very enjoyable....thank you.

Fun and exciting

I like it!

At first i was worried that it would be really difficult because im already 27 years old but the dance teacher was very patient and guide us individually. The class is quite small about 5, which makes it better for beginners like me to have the attention of the teacher. I really like the experience and will go back for the 4 session course.

Very good experience!

It was really fun and the dance instructor is very patient to repeat many times when she saw that we are not clear about the steps. It wasn't too difficult so it is very good for beginners with no dance background... like me. It was a really good experience! Will go back for more lessons in future. :)

More than meets the eye

Pace was good

Overall Good

Liked that the class size was small and the instructor was patient in teaching the choreography. some prior dance (perhaps ballet) experience may be beneficial for this class as some of the moves can be quite technical. Overall still a good experience!

Great trial class experience!

The instructor, May, was enthusiastic and helpful. Class size was small which allowed for sufficient space to practise dance moves without worry of bumping into others. I liked that it felt relatively private too. Fees are reasonable. Best of all, we were able to learn an actual choreography within the one hour session!

instructor was friendly enough, but there was next to no instruction on proper form, and she was unable to project her voice over the music. Class started really late too. Even though that time was made up for, it meant that the class ran far too late for me. Rates are cheap, but you get what to pay for.

Top rate experience

The teacher was outstanding. Very charismatic, and clearly experienced in teaching people of different levels and abilities without leaving anyone out. He gave good tips on how to master tap, and made the class a great deal of fun. I would also comment that the admin support at the front desk was also very good.
