What You'll Learn
You will get an introduction in self defense by going through one of 10 modules that completes the Level 1 self defense course. Ranging from defense against hairpull, defense against choke holds, defense against body grabs etc, these are essential skills you would want to pick up.

Kapap Academy uses its proprietary system called Modern Street Combatives. It is an eclectic system comprising of various self defense system such as Kapap, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Catch Wrestling, Knife fighting, Small Joint manipulations amongst others. The sole objective is to empower the ordinary person on the street with realistic self defense skills to enable them to fend off a stronger attacker without relying on strength. Couple that with psychology to understand the predator's mindset, this will equip you with the skills to sense and avoid danger before you come face to face with it. Ultimately, we teach you to fight without fighting, and only when push comes to shove would you have to use those skills to stay alive.
If a student cancels a booking less than 7 business days in advanced, there will be no refunds. Once past the non-refundable period, the student can choose to transfer the booking to another person.

However, we are very strict on the quality of lessons and if we receive complaints regarding the quality of the lessons from our users, we will not hesitate to take action in removing the lessons and banning the lesson provider.

Q: Are the lessons real? Will I get scammed if I book classes on LGW?
A: The lessons are definitely real. All lessons are uploaded and checked by a team of hardworking elves (the founders of LGW) who work tirelessly and through late nights to ensure that the details are accurate. All lesson providers are also contracted with LGW to provide the lessons. We back our lessons up with a 100% Refund Policy. In the scenario that a lesson is cancelled, we GUARANTEE that we will refund you 100% of the fess paid. The security of our customers is our number 1 priority. Q: Why do I need to pay immediately?
A: We require that you pay for the lesson in full before you are issued an email confirmation of your booking for the lessons. There will be costs incurred by the instructor before the lesson commences, and your payment not only immediately confirms your booking, but will enable us to pay the lesson provider immediately!
Q: Why should I book and pay for my lessons on LessonsGoWhere.com.sg?
A: In cases of disagreement between you and the lesson provider, LGW will have a copy of your booking details logged with us and can also withhold payment from the lesson provider. Your booking details will be helpful should any disputes arise in terms of bookings and payments. Also, with the wide variety of lessons on LGW, you can immediate compare and choose your choice of classes at your convenience! Q: What happens after I've made payment?
A: Once you've confirmed payment for the lessons of your choice, you will receive an email confirmation from us, letting you know the date, time and location of the lesson. On the day itself, simply present the email confirmation to the lesson provider and you will be able to attend the lesson!
Q: What happens if I cannot attend the lesson?
A: In the case that after you have booked your lesson, but are unable to attend, let us know immediately. Email us at info@lessonsgowhere.com.sg. We will try our best to transfer your booking to another time, or if you prefer, to a friend. While we cannot refund your payment if you are unable to attend, let us know and we will try out best to accommodate you!
Q: What if the lesson provider asks for more money when I arrive?
A: The pricing information for each lesson is clearly stated on each listing and will also note what is or is not included. Q: Do the fees include equipment and location rentals (if necessary)?
A: While some lesson providers will include equipment and facility bookings with the fee, others might not. Don't worry though, the pricing information is clearly stated on each listing and will also note what is or is not included. Q: What happens if I pay for a lesson and the lesson provider cancels or doesn't respond?
A: Don't worry! If the lesson is cancelled or if you are unable to get a response from the lesson provider, email us at info@lessonsgowhere.com.sg and we will refund you 100% of the fees you paid.
Q: My friend/girlfriend/boyfriend/family member wishes to attend the lesson as well, can I book for them too?
A: Yes! Learning is always an experience best shared. It's also a great activity to bond over! If you have others who are interested in attending the lesson as well, simply book the appropriate number of slots for the lesson and they can accompany you. Book fast though! Most lessons only have a limited number of slots available and if you aren't fast enough, you might not be able to secure the slots for them!
Q: Should I leave a review after I've attended the lesson?

Yunquan is an Bio-engineering (Honours) graduate and a certified Behavioural Consultant in a personality assessment tool known as DISC. She is a certified Rehabilitation Trainer for sports and martial arts injuries (MasterClass), and has also undergone formal training with the Paul Ekman Group (founded by the eminent psychologist Paul Ekman) in the field of detecting deception. She is also trained in Cognitive Behaviorual Therapy and Rational Emotive Therapy by CBT Australia.
In terms of self defense expertise, Yunquan is a KAPAP level1 instructor certified by Major Avi Nardia himself,as well as a certified Executive Bodyguard by both Colonel Chaim and Major Avi Nardia. Specializing in ladies and children self defense,Yunquan teaches the use of specially selected biomechanics and principles of engagement that are critical for a smaller person to defend against a much larger opponent.
She instructs regularly at ladies groups such asAWARE(Singapore’s premier ladies interest group),and the Girls Brigade in personal protection skills. Yunquan is the Assistant Instructor in KAPAP level1 instructorship held bi-annually at Kapap Academy Singapore.She is also a Weapons instructor in the use of knives, tomahawks and machetes,and in our unique street grappling with knife programme. Yunquan studied with the top grappling/Brazilian jiu-jitsu school in the world, the renowned Gracie Academy(US)/University. She is the first lady in Asia Pacific to be awarded a blue belt in BrazilianJiu-Jitsu by the Gracie Academy,and is a certified Gracie Combatives Instructor. Yunquan is also currently studying catch wrestling under the famous catch wrestler, Coach Roy Wood, Snakepit (Wigan). She was also trained by the legendary British and European catch wrestling Champion, the late Billy Robinson. Yunquan is also a student of the international edged weapons expert, Tom Sotis (AMOK!).
Yunquan became a certified Piloxing instructor in 2014, who is trained to teach a revolutionary fitness regime that combines Pilates, Boxing and Dance in a single workout. In 2015, she is also a level 1 SGT Ken Bootcamp instructor.
Yunquan, co-founded an eclectic system of street style fighting, known as Modern Street Combatives, together with her teacher, Master Teo. Modern Street Combatives draws upon realistic self defense systems such as KAPAP, Catch Wrestling, Gracie Combatives, Savate etc.
In 2014, Yunquan was one of the top three nominees for the Singapore Women’s Award in recognition for her social contributions. In terms of her sports achievements, Yunquan is a silver medalist in the National Wrestling Open trials 2013. In the same year, she won 3 more silver medals in the Singapore Combat Championship in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Wrestling, and the Jagsport Open Championship in submission grappling. Her fight so impressed the judges, that she was given the Top Athlete Award by Jagsport (2013). In the National Wrestling Open trials 2015, Yunquan won the silver medal. In the same year, she also won first place in the SEA Senior Championships 2015 trials. She is also a National athlete under the Singapore WrestlingFederation. Her previous martial arts background wasin wushu. Yunquan is a founding member and Secretary of the Kapap Federation Asia.
