ROUGH was started in the beginning of 2011 by a group of friends and our Head of Gym (Darius Wong) who shared a common love of the art of Muay Thai. ROUGH started out in a humble one storey zinc-roofed training ground next to Liang Court. It was a gritty environment one might expect from a Muay Thai gym in Thailand. But what ROUGH lacked in facilities is more than made up for in passion. Our classes steadily grew and our students called this dingy studio their second home. ROUGH soon relocated to Liang Court itself to cater to the growing sizes of the classes within a year and as of July 2014 after less than 3 years, ROUGH has further expanded was located in Raffles Place but due to evacuation of Equity Plaza, we have since moved to Outram on New Bridge Road.

While the times and facilities have changed our bond with our students has not. As our family of students has grown to include those from all over the world we continue to share our ever constant dedication to the pursuit of self-improvement and bringing together the ancient Art of Muay Thai with all those that come to ROUGH.
