Pat-A-Cake with Aruna is a platform for children to explore the world of baking – taste, texture, flavor, ingredients. Our workshops allow children to develop various skills that are needed for school – maths skills (measuring, counting), vocabulary, visual perceptual and spatial perceptual skills (pouring, fitting cookies on a tray), and lots of coordination skills. Needless to add, baking can spark a love for cooking – who knows where the next Jamie Olivier will spring from?!

We also provide birthday party baking and decorating activities and dessert table styling services.

Aruna Rao is the founder of Pat-A-Cake with Aruna.

Originally from India, Aruna grew up in Bahrain, completed her MBA in India, worked in New York and now resides in Singapore with her husband and two toddlers.

She began her baking journey as a teenager and the love to whip up desserts got a boost when she became a SAHM. Soon she realized that her 18-month old daughter also loved to be in the kitchen and showed a lot of interest in baking. Surprisingly, the toddler could follow simple instructions and enjoyed the motion, movement and tasting that accompanied the activity. Very few activities can grip a child’s attention the way baking does and she started using baking as a platform to introduce learning and soft skills to children.

Having a diverse background in Finance, Marketing and Supply Chain, Aruna always had a penchant for cooking and baking. She also loves organizing, has an eye for detail and a love for handcrafted decor.

When she is not running around her little ones and working on her new venture, this busy mum can be found indulging in trying out new restaurants and new recipes.
