Eyes on Asia


Felix Hug (Photography) and Jamie Boyd (Producer) are based in Singapore. They are the team that makes Eyes On Asia Pte Ltd. Their aim is to communicate and promote diversity and humanity through inspiring travel images. Felix and Jamie believe that positive images have the power to change the way we look at things. Together they travel in the region on assignments for some of the most recognized companies in the travel and leisure industry. Felix & Jamie are commissioned by Silk Air (Singapore Airlines) as their official destination photography team. Felix has started to pursue his career as a professional travel & destination photographer in 2004.

Since then he has won Accolades in some of the most prestigious travel photography competitions worldwide. They include:

About Felix Hug

Swiss-born Felix Hug has gone from winning trophies as a professional basketball player to winning awards as a professional travel photographer for some of the world's best-known airlines, hotels and resorts.

Photography awards he's won many, including a1st Prize at the 2008 Travel Photographer of the Year Awards in London (Best Image, Call of The Wild), Winner at the “Image of The Year Awards” in 2008 (New York); a First Prize at the International Photography Awards (IPA) in 2005, a Gold Award & Best of Show selection at the Australian Professional Photography Awards in 2005 and the Asian Geographic Nikon Grand Prize in 2004. His images have appeared in countless magazines all over the world. GEO Magazine, National Geographic Traveler and Cosmopolitan, just to name a few.

Felix brings to photography the same dedication, professionalism and work ethic that carried his team to two titles and league cup wins. As a result, he is sought after by the world's top travel brands. His list of blue-chip clients include the Lonely Planet Library, Singapore Airlines/Silk Air, Raffles Hotels and Resorts, Silversands at the W Retreat and Spa in Maldives, Bank Julius Baer Singapore and Universal Resorts in the Maldives.

His work as a travel photographer is imbued by his philosophy. He says, "You have to get away from just documenting reality. The job of the photographer is to capture and trigger emotions as well. Positive images and compassion will inspire and change the way we look at things."

When it comes to working with clients, he believes that his job goes beyond taking photographs. "The photographer is a problem solver who has to understand his client needs. It goes further, then just taking great images." He works with a team that offers complete solutions, incorporating art direction, design, copywriting and printing.

Now based in Singapore, Felix conducts workshops around Southeast Asia for aspiring travel photographers as well.
