It was love at first try when Vickie Lee went for a Japanese clay craft lesson 12 years ago. A craft buff, her hobbies include cross-stitch, crochet, painting, UV craft and the list goes on. But while these have remained hobbies, Vickie has taken things a step further with Japanese clay craft.

To share her passion for clay crafting with others, she started Craft-It-Yourself – a specialty craft shop that specializes in clay making and supplies. Why clay craft? The amazing part in doing clay craft is the creations are unlimited. Every piece of work is never identical and is a unique piece by itself.

Vickie teach others how to make miniature clay figurines, pastries and flowers which can be used as hair accessories, earrings, wedding favours as well as wedding hand bouquets and again the list goes on.

Vickie had an unexpected and unconventional start in this craft. When she first started clay crafting, she had problems getting the materials locally as it was a relatively new hobby in Singapore. she then approached the suppliers in Japan and ordered the materials directly from there. Being a regular customer with the suppliers in Japan, she was then asked to be their sole distributor in Asia and of course without hesitation, she agreed.

She is currently a certified instructor with Decoclay Academy and she has 2 teachers under her wings helping with the teaching. She has years of teaching experience not only in clay but in academic too. Today she has incorporated her air-dry clay technique into Pottery too.
