Chantilly Culinary Studio is a premium culinary studio delivering training in baking and international cuisine. Previously known as The Cook Club, the venture now has a brand new studio in Kovan. The studio is fully equipped for hands-on baking and cooking classes.

Cecilia Hough is at the realm of the culinary and baking classes. She has been delivering culinary classes for more than 8 years. She is trained in classic European cuisine and worked in restaurants and hotels in South Arica before gaining international experience aboard the Queen Elizabeth II. Her philosophy on cooking and baking is to keep it simple, fresh and natural. She often bakes with fresh fruits and vegetables and prefers natural flavourings. Transfat is also banned from all her recipes.

Chantilly Culinary Studio specialises in culinary classes for adults and children including:

Clear & easy to understand

I had thought Black Forest to be a difficult cake to master but after the class, it seemed not too difficult after all.

comfortable and condusive environment

Well equiped classroom, and cosy too, with daylight streaming in from the windows.
Cecilia was patient, gave clear and simple instructions for a novice like me to follow.
Will definately return for more lessons with her.

quite fun I learnt a lot

It was very good learning experience, Cecilia gave a lot of individual attention and help to us. The assistant there wasn't very helpful though, didn't help to load my cookies and cupcakes in oven. Also she took out my baked cookies from the oven and left them on my table in a mess while others she arranged nicely.

Not bad

Bad: The amount of cream for the cake that the recipe makes was too little. Should increase the entire amount by about 30-50%.
Good: Class size was small so you get a lot of attention, all the equiment are easily available. Chef was friendly.

Fun and interesting to learn

It was hard work but was fun and interesting. I was satisfied and happy when I saw the final results of my cake. I suggest having tart classes like pineapple tarts, egg tarts etc. Thanks.

Relaxing and Fun

Welcoming environment that makes you feel at home. The lesson is interesting and fun, with Cecilia giving in depth explanation of the why, what, how, do and don't of baking. Plenty of hands-on and tasty outcomes. Great experience. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed the lesson and learnt something new.

The recipes are simple yet the outcome is fabulous. My kids especially love the cheat's red Thai curry that I brought home from lesson. The lesson was conducted at a very comfortable pace. Would look out for more classes to attend.

Excellent teacher !! very methodical and helpful.

The dessert recipes were really simple but at the same time very tasty. Loved the class. Planning to do the cafe desserts second class soon.

Good Experience

it was a fun class. Enjoyed making pizza dough from scratch. My family loved all the stuff that I got back home. The teacher is pleasant and very helpful . An enjoyable experience overall

It was an awesome experience! Highly recommend it.

I loved my time there in the kitchen! The instructor was very patient and easy to talk to in class so it felt like a cook-a-long session. It wasn't stressful at all and she guided us through all the steps to make our perfect mille crepe cake.
Which btw tasted phenomenal.
Had a wonderful afternoon there and will definitely be back for another class.

Fun & Informative

Cecilia makes the class fun by sharing the successful turnouts as well as flops by her students & herself as well.
She shares the learning lessons behind the flops.
Also I learn how to understand the measuring terms used by the Europeans, Americans etc.
The cakes are easy to make with very little fuss.

Best baking lessons!

Fantastic! Venue is accessible (beside Kovan MRT station) and kitchen is well-equipped. Teacher has good knowledge and teaches well. Cakes are beautiful and delicious.

The place was easy to find, nice pleasant classroom, class size was kept small and cosy, and the instructions were simple and clear. What we learnt were basic skills could be adapted into many variations.

Informative and practical

Small class size of 6, everyone could see the demo clearly. Quite a comprehensive class with a generous portion to bring home. Steps are easy to follow. Expect the class to end a bit later.

It was perfect lessons!

I had never done baked cakes before and never used the oven as well.
So I was little bit nervous and everying was quite strange for me, the equipments, temperature of oven, use a tin, and eve stir the batter very gently...and I failed my cake horribly for three times ;)
However, Ms Cecilia have cheered me up and explained why I had a mistake.
If the Chef didn't understand me and explained very specifically, I might give up the lessons.
Now I can bake the cakes by myself and I think very lucky to have her lessons!

very easy recipes and most of all yummy!!

Instructor explained well and willing to answer all questions. The baking studio is a very nice enviroment. Its abit pity that we do not get to make the frosting but we get to pipe them on the cupcakes and deco them.

Will definitely go back for more lessons

Clean, well organized and spacious studio. Cecilia was friendly and approachable. She enabled new comers like me to feel really comfortable in a new environment, this being my first lesson. Demonstration and instructions were clear and easy to follow. Thoroughly enjoyed my lesson and the puffs were yummy!

Hands-on at individual work stations

Had a wonderful time learning how to portion chicken and using the different parts to cook 4 dishes. Cecilia was friendly and it was a very casual and fun learning experience.

a refreshing and informative course

I didnt expect much in the begining as i have gone for a few baking classes before. Probably just hands on baking some tips and that's it.

However at Chantilly it is different. Cecillia is very knowledgable and is very generous with her informations. She shares alot of useful tips on baking and the do's and don't.

It is definitely money well spent on the course content.
