Vivien is a full-time sewing instructor and runs her online handmade business at www.thecottonshoppe.etsy.com. Her business focuses on custom made baby gifts, tote bags, plush toys and sale of Japanese fabrics. With over eight years of sewing experience, Vivien hopes to share her love for crafting and sewing with her students through her workshops and to create a vibrant makers community in Singapore. Some classes she conducts include applique, plush toys, tote bags, quilting and more.

Absolutely amazing

Loved it! The sewing machine is no longer intimidating. Trainer is patient, knowledgeable and very engaging. Worth every penny!

Perfect course for beginners!

Vivien is an extremely patient and friendly trainer! I appreciated the tutorial handout and she was very detailed in her instructions, which was helpful for newbies like me. She generously shared tips and tricks from her experience, and provided a good foundation. I also went home with a lovely pillowcase and a new skill!

Awesome!

Wonderful experience! I've never used a sewing machine before and now I can! Vivien taught all the basic and foundations of sewing machine and showed steps by steps patiently. She also explained the types of fabrics and what to look out for when cutting fabrics correctly. Will definitely consider another session!

I'm finally able to operate a sewing machine

Awesome experience, a very pretty n patient teacher, willing to slow down and repeat her words and easy to pick up skill thanks to a small group class ..Definitely worth recommending and will also look into her other classes too.

Enjoy sewing!

Easy and Good experience

First time learn sewing using the machine. Vivian explain a lot of detail from fabric, how you do your cutting of your fabric and given notes in case we forgot everything.
She also help us to do first of our sewing project which is cushion cover.

Engaging and Fun

Vivien is a very patient teacher who ensures that you will be able to follow throughout the lesson. She gave tips along the way and informed us of common mistakes and problems that we may encounter. It was an interesting lesson and I will be keen to learn from her again.
